B. Loewe served as the Planning Director for the Latino Union of Chicago from 2003 to 2009 where he oversaw the incorporation of the volunteer group into a non-profit organization and increased the budget 600%. At the Latino Union B. led successful efforts to resolve community/law enforcement tensions, and passed the strongest local protections for immigrant residents in the country. Previously, B. served as a national student organizer for the Service Employees International Union and participated in anti-oppression training series focusing on race and gender, coordinated food justice programs, and worked in the global justice protest movement at the beginning of the decade.
