The National Planning Committee of the US Social Forum meets once each month via telephone conference call. - Site selection update and discussion: Jackson has announced that it doesn't have capacity to host a 2015 USSF. ACT met on 8/13 and puts forward the following recommendation: Site selection team move forward with planned site visits to discuss with anchor groups their site proposals and capacities/timing. At the same time, the NPC will reflect on the site selection question more deeply, particularly in light of the decision in Philly and reaffirmed in Atlanta to embrace a social forum of a new type--which builds upon a locally grounded PMA process and that is designed to take place in multiple, linked sites. The selection of site for national convergence and satellite sites should be informed by the PMA process and consider how the work being done through PMAs can best advance the goals of USSF-3.
