Monday January 7:
MEETING SUMMARY: The main goal of this meeting was to summarize some of the past work and experience of the Communications and Technology working group/s of the US Social Forum and summarize the three main task forces that are now active. This working group is a result of the merging of what used to be two separate working groups, and our work is to mesh the social and technical work of communications for movement building. Our current work is supporting the US Social Forum strategy meeting taking place March 8-10 in New Orleans. There will also be a satellite meeting in Philadelphia that combines a Northeast Regional Peoples Movement Assembly with sessions that will bring together participants in Philadelphia and New Orleans. We will also livestream segments of these meetings. The three main task forces are the Newsletter, Website, and "March meeting Expanded" task force. Details and task force contacts are listed in these notes.
