SUMMARY
Agenda:
a) survey results--Scott willing to discuss
b) work plan--point people to the wiki.
c) communications plan--Karlos wrote a one page summary to give people a broad overview. It can be posted on the wiki but he's concerned about posting our strategy in a public place. We can figure out how to deal with potential problems like this.
TO DO
Survey and agenda email:
--Scott will send out survey with close date Tues, 11/24 pm.
--We'll ask Reg to send out agenda on Wed, 11/25 am--with a cool email header line!
--Karlos and Reg will finalize the agenda and email message
Projects
We can post projects on the wiki...share info from surveys to see what projects people want to do. Let people take off, esp with regionally based projects.
Survey edits
Media makers: what format do you and your outlet use? Make open ended
Agenda items for next NPC
--let's postpone this for now but focus on internal communications plan to share with the OC to help us work more effectively. Reg and/or Karlos may be able to rep in January in ABQ.
--Set-up media training session, perhaps at NPC mtg.
--Webinar and NPC face to face--thru CMJ, Karlos can offer Internet-based software for training.
Media List and Database
Karlos has access to the most complete, up-to-date media lists for all major US markets, international markets, and even bloggers. I can pull broad and targed lists by beat and region in CSV format.
--Karlos can pull together comprehensive database lists that we can access for media outlets and contacts, and maybe post it on the wiki. We'll need someone to help coordinate local and regional info on movement building. ICT is working on a website that will allow people to post, share, and coordinate work across the country.
--Progressive Communicators Network (PCN) are able to help with regional communications work. There are people from around the Midwest but so far not in Detroit. Perhaps they can help us identify contacts.
Work plan for COMM WG
See communications plan. Should come out of that, survey and what people commit to doing through appreciative inquiry.
Internal Communication Plan/Best Practices
Scott will send out to the list so we can work it out on the wiki.
