Discussion: Knowing how to present information to others with regard to the USSF 2010 Building a strong foundation and creating history Serenity “Will donate ad space for Nadir in August play souvenir book for donating his space. The overall goal is to create a movement and show the positive aspects of Detroit Review of Phase I: Ideas Liberation and Education are the focus of the music. One film festival at this time. Plays and events for children, also places for kids to do artwork. Open Mic with a purpose/ Youth Camp will have security Fundraisers (to secure additional items needed and additional funds required.) See handout of brainstorming for cultural expression for further activities discussed previously***
Phase II: Categorizing Events/Days What spaces are available for cultural workshops?
A. Kent will get maps of downtown B. Serenity will check files by Friday for Cobo Hall /Hart Plaza Maps
How many workshops? 1000+ (250 daily over the 4day period) December is deadline for submissions. Nadir-“ having active art in workshops so as to get people involved” Kent- “need to know area between amphitheatre for food vendors?” Nadir-“we have to be cognizant of the area and what types of food and or food vendors are allowed. Serenity-“Refreshments available in Cobo. Cobo will only allow Aramark [located within Cobo] for catering, food, drinks etc. The first floor has a few kiosks that sell hotdogs, chips, pizza, etc. and there is a restaurant/club in Cobo as well. The Pyramid and Amphitheatre are the two main stages but additional will be required. Additional stages needed. How many? For what programs? Fundraisers will be held to raise additional funds for proper equipment and other needs.

Vendors will pay a fee to use space for large items (and possibly a %tage of sales depending on products) Other vendors –i.e. cd‟s, jewelry, clothing would do consignment Media Discussion Serenity –will check /w media for coverage Everyone will reach out to their contacts to see what media resources we can utilize Other topics Theme for concerts instead of calling them a concert.
- How to include activism and arts?
- Serenity will work with females in hip hop and connect with others in the film industry
- Networking with a purpose, exchanging information to keep in touch and stay motivated.
- Print out and carry flyers with you to events to inform crowds and get people involved.
