Privacy is ultimately about liberty, while surveillance is aways about control

I choose to work on free software projects primarily related to telephony and VoIP, and I am particularly concerned with enabling universal communication freedom and privacy. I maintain a number of free (as in freedom) software packages that are part of the GNU Project. I also am involved in international relations on behalf of the Lakota nation. My concerns range from human freedom to basic issues of human dignity worldwide.

Currently I choose to develop peer-to-peer encrypted communication software and tools for general public use to enable communication privacy and anonymity worldwide as part of the GNU Telephony "Secure Calling" initiative. I also speak at number of conferences each year worldwide on issues of free software, accessibility issues for the blind, and the need for freedom and privacy friendly ICT policy.
