Movement Building in United States, paving the road to USSF 2010
The US Social Forum process is a unique and powerful movement-building space in the context of the current moment globally. In the context of a global social movement, how are US-based movements growing in the struggle against global capitalism? Representatives from the Detroit Local Organizing Committee and members of the National Planning Committee will share the story of the USSF, the road from Atlanta to Detroit, developing movement convergence, vision and strategy for another world and another US. This event will be done in conjunction with Detroit organizers in an expanded format, video conferencing!

"Detroit Organizers Participate Virtually in International Conference, a Precursor to Next Summer's National Event, the USSF"

Montréal, Québec is hosting the Québec Forum Social (FSQ) this October. The FSQ follows from the World Social Forum movement, a global quest for growing alternatives by networking social justice organizations. Activity at the FSQ over the past decade has had a strong hand in the continual evolution of Québec’s social, cultural, economic and political environment. The FSQ event in Montréal, like the US Social Forum slated for June 2010 in Detroit, is a space for meeting and open exchange between social movements.
FSQ organizers have invited delegates from the US Social Forum to participate in the FSQ in addition to a series of planning meetings for the next World Social Forum, to be held in Africa 2011. The six US delegates in attendance will be joined by Detroit organizers that will be participating virtually in a live video discussion with FSQ participants.
