Among the USSF goals for participation are openness, democracy, and transparency. With this, we encourage all participants on this site to login with a name that reflects his/her real name. (See link in top right corner of the screen.) Your login request will be approved quickly by one of the Committee members. All edits on the site can be tracked in RecentChanges and they are posted with the participant's name. Since this is a public website, this helps protect this wiki.

Last Thursday the Technology committee agreed in principle to our request to conduct training on the wiki and ideas for getting feedback from users of the wiki. The committee believes it can be an excellent tool for communications once people get used to it, with any fine-tuning that may be needed. They are working on getting a date for training - could be June or July. Sylvia is scheduled to be in Detroit this week and help with wiki training. Nancy thought we had a meeting and didn't realize this week it's just a conference call, so it's unclear how Sylvia might connect with people. Ideas?

As the Tech committee notes say: "No one tool will solve all problems, so we may try new tools down the road... During training, it's important to gather people's experiences and provide feedback for better design."

Welcome to the Organizing Wiki

This is the beginning of what we hope will be a vibrant, open, and democratic website to share ideas, proposals, and comments about LOC planning efforts for the US Social Forum in Detroit 2010. Read the USSF Vision and Goals for a greater understanding of the process and model that we will use to manifest our political impact, organizing, and structural efforts to create Another world is possible! Another U.S. is necessary! Please use this space for your organizing. Post thoughts, comments, ideas. Wikis are wonderful for collaborations. Jump in and have fun!
